Two injured in crash near Foothill Expressway

Van rolls over after hitting truck in Palo Alto; drivers taken to hospital

Two people were injured Friday morning when a truck and a van collided off Foothill Expressway in Palo Alto, forcing the van to roll over.

The collision happened at about 11 a.m. at the intersection of Hillview and Miranda avenues, near the VMWare headquarters at Stanford Research Park. Both drivers suffered injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, police said.

Firefighters responded to the crash scene and helped get the driver of the van out of the overturned vehicle. Police said the driver was a woman in her 50s or 60s. She was conscious and breathing at the time she was rescued, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle, a white pickup truck, also complained of pains and was taken to Stanford Hospital.

Police said the van, a green Ford Windstar, appeared to be heading northbound on Hillview when it collided with the eastbound truck. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Ouch. I'm glad their injuries appear minor.
