Indecent exposure reported in Seale Park

Palo Alto police seek suspect in Friday incident

Palo Alto police are looking for a man who they said committed indecent exposure while walking through an occupied playground at Seale Park on Friday afternoon.

Police received a call at about 5 p.m. reporting that a man had just walked into the park from Stockton Place. Two women were in the playground area of the park at the time watching their children play, according to the police. One of the women noticed that the man had his penis exposed through the open zipper of his pants and warned the other woman. They then saw the man walk through the playground, hop over the two-foot fence surrounding the playground and walk south on Stockton.

Police said the man didn't talk to or make contact with any of the adults or children at the playground. Both witnesses told the police that their children didn't see the man. They described him as a black male, about 45 years of age, 6 feet tall, around 170 pounds and with a thin build. He was reportedly wearing a baseball cap, a blue jean jacket and white pants.

Police were able to get a image of the suspect walking away from the playground through a neighbor's surveillance camera.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the department's 24-hour dispatch center at 650-329-2413. Anonymous tips can be e-mailed to paloalto@tipnow.org or sent via text message or voice mail to 650-383-8984.
