Palo Alto police are looking for three people who allegedly broke into an unoccupied home in the Duveneck/St. Francis neighborhood, shuffled through the homeowner's possessions and took off with a computer tablet on Wednesday night.

The three suspects, believed to be male, were captured on a home video surveillance system as they crept into the home on the 1700 block of Channing Avenue at about 9:40 p.m., crawled through the kitchen and family room, pulled out drawers and ransacked the home. They stole the single tablet computer and left the home a few minutes after they entered, police said.

The burglary was discovered on Thursday, after the resident returned home to find the rear glass door smashed and the house ransacked. He called the police Thursday night to report the burglary.

The video captured in surveillance shows the three suspects all wearing gloves and light-colored sweatshirts with hoods up. Two of them are wearing identical sweatshirts, with the letter B printed in a light color inside a black circle. After rummaging with flashlights for a few minutes, they walked out the door, the video shows.
