Woman arrested for burglarizing home — again

Residence struck for second time in 6 months

A Palo Alto woman was arrested Sunday morning after she allegedly broke into an Alma Street home for the second time in six months, police said.

A woman who allegedly broke into a home on Alma Street in Palo Alto for the second time in six months was arrested on Nov. 20, 2022. Embarcadero Media file photo.

The woman reportedly broke into the house in the 100 block of Alma Street on Saturday night, when it was unoccupied, and remained in the house overnight, according to a police press release. Police arrested her after they found her asleep on the sofa.

The resident, who was out of town with his family, observed the person in his home through video surveillance. He reportedly recognized her as the same woman whom he confronted in May, when she allegedly broke a glass panel on the home's front door in an attempt to enter his home.

At that time, the man's family was inside the home during the attempted burglary. Police arrested her near the residence after she fled the scene on foot.

On Sunday, police arrived to find that the glass panel on the front door had once again been shuttered. After she woke up, she allegedly gave the police a false name. Though she appears to have rummaged through property, nothing was missing from the home, according to the news release.

PAO - where is the photo of the suspect? People might like to be aware if the suspect starts prowling around their neighborhood.
