Does ANYONE else feel this punch to the gut? My gosh..criminals roaming Atherton & mugging innocent victims on the sidewalks. I retired to the Philippines & the Bay Area people visiting us admit the entire area from Marin to San Jose & OFCOURSE the notorious East Bay..are riddled with crime, destruction & political ostriches with their head in the sand.
Here we only deal with extra judicial killings..Category 5 typhoons & political dynasties.

@Mo Revue...Take your pick of where you want to live...and die. Neither of the places you mentioned would ever excite and attract people to move there, but I've lived in PA since 1961, and so I'm going to stick it out to the end...not knowing if I'll die a natural death or be shot or stabbed to death in a restaurant, grocery store, shopping center, parking lot, or theater, or just strolling on the sidewalks of our two lively shopping districts in Palo Alto.

Something is "off" about this story. There's no description of what she was doing. There are no sidewalks in that block and at most Atherton homes, there is an electronic gate barring access to the property. The article has been removed from the Atherton city website the link refers to.

Reading the article - the "perps" drove off in a BMW? The "perps" appear to be doing okay. Why are people NOW walking around with any jewelry of value? Suggest that you do not venture outide with ANY Valuables.
