We need more visible police.

Another reason for intersection cameras.

Ok. We REALLY need more information about the white pickup truck. Full size? Small size? Did it have any kind of tool box? did it have a shell? Older or newer? Can they PLEASE give us more details?
They need to get some decoys out there (trained police that look like young girls,) and nail this loser in a sting.
Castilleja has been in the news several times now (about 6 months ago, some guy in black approached a girl in the morning) - Walter is right about the Cameras - Castilleja, can you put cameras up to monitor your surrounding neighborhood area? You seem to be at the center of attention for creeps sniffing around your students.

Perhaps it's time to begin a volunteer Guardian Angels effort here.

I second the comment above about visible police. The police spokesman says not to walk alone any longer. I understand that after dusk, but have we really come to the point of being unsafe during the day in Palo Alto?

I also believe that any woman walking alone must have a cell phone.

This is why I don't let my kids go to school by themselves. They really need to always be in a group.
