Los Altos High School has a small pumpkin patch. The proceeds support Los Altos Sports. It's right by a parking lot and just a few blocks from El Camino and San Antonio, held at Los Altos High School.
It's small, but a good cause.

As long as you don't require pumpkins-on-the-vine picking, check into Ardenwood Farm (just across the Dumbarton), We went last year and a year or so before that and enjoyed ourselves.

Webb Ranch on Alpine Road has had a pumpkin patch since the late 1960s, and probably long before that.

Los Altos High School pumpkin patch is great! Saves me on gas from driving all over the place. And the pumpkin sales are supporting the kids and school.

Don't forget! Webb Ranch off 280 at Alpine Rd--lots of pumpkins and activities for the kids! I have not been but noticed a "patch" at San Antonio shopping Center

That patch on San Antonio next to Sears is Grampa's Pumpkin Patch. or many years it used to be located where the soccer fields are now at El Camino and Page Mill. It's run by a local resident and turns into a Christmas tree lot after Halloween. It's very kid-friendly: critters for petting, two jump houses, hay rides and a a haunted house, etc. It's pretty pedestrian but at least they are trying to entertain the kids. We like to go there as it's a welcome breath of fresh air from our hurried lives.

I also went to Webb Ranch on Alpine Road. Really cute. They have all sorts of varieties of novelty pumpkins in different colors, shapes and sizes. They also have a little farmer's market right there with lots of really nice looking organic produce. Of course, there were decorations and a haunted house and hayrides as well.

I highly recommend Grandpa's next to Sears and San Antonio. Very satisfying for the pre-teen aged kids. We've been going there since they were on Page Mill.

I would like to append my recent recommendation. Just went here for the first time this year and they are now charging adults $3 and kids $2 each just to walk on the lot. I mean, WTF! A total turnoff if you ask me. Just please charge more for the pumpkins if you have to for gosh sakes. As it is, their pumpkins are pretty high-priced. We will not be going back. I mean come on, it's a Sears parking lot covered with straw!
I wonder if they will be charging to look at Christmas trees this year? Every year without fail we fill out a "discount mailer postcard" and have never received one back. OK, I feel better now.
