Well, at least they won't have trouble finding a new place to lease. There are empty storefronts everywhere.

Hats off to Town and Country for reviving a dying institution. Change is hard, but I've never seen so many people there before. Great new restaurants and stores and just generally freshened up. Trader Joe's on the way. Congratulations T&C and keep up the good work!

I am pleased to see T & C smartened up, but I liked many of the stores which have now gone. At present it looks like Stanford Mall, in some ways (the restaurants) are actually upscale Stanford. I do not like the changes. I go there for some of the British food that the Cheesehouse carries (not as great a selection as before) and often use Books Inc and since I am there I may use Longs too. I used to go there for Weightwatchers, Rojos, Cookbook, Spot Pizza (I know great selection) mainly and miss them all.
This seems to be another Palo Alto effort at getting the Atherton/Portola Valley crowd in and sending the Palo Altans outside their own city for shopping. When TJs arrives, I will probably still use MV as it is close to the other stores I use all the time.

I am excited that Trader Joe's will be so close to our house but don't know how they are going to deal with the traffic from Trader Joe's. It's an accident waiting to happen.
I grew up here in PA and T & C never had much. Glad to see it is improving. Hope there are more places for Paly kids to eat though it seems they are moving away from that. Trader Joe's will have food for them. It was always a nice break from school to be able to walk over to T & C. Esp. these days with the rigorous academics, it's nice for the kids to have a place to escape to temporarily.

Where is the Country in T&C. The place looks awful and has for years.
All those railroad ties used as construction materials what an ridiculous form of architecture.
This place is yet another example of "Palo Alto snobbery".

Town and Country is now a good place to buy a cupcake for $4 or schedule a birthday party for a child in a fancy barber shop for just $180-$360.
I miss Rojos and the Cookbook. But hey you can now buy a baby's rattle for $12.
