Guess I must lack a sense of humor, I find nothing funny about this. What if they had guns and shot some bystanders?
And I wonder when they say gang-related, what that is supposed to mean - both people were Latino males with tattooes? I wonder if they could follow this up and find out, also what the citizenship of both participants was?

I love going to the movies but plan to avoid Century 16 for the time being. It used to be the place for auto burglaries, now we've got muggings and gang activity? No thanks.

I imagine an experienced police officer could tell if a crime is "gang related" easily. Maybe something from the above story like..
"There were some words exchanged before the movie" between two groups. "
While I can appreciate humor as much (or more) than anyone, there is something a bit weird or even creepy about some of the responses above. Is the point that modern gangs aren't "manly" enough? Maybe they could all enroll in one of those new "Masculinism" classes taught by the Value Voter gang.
Next we'll hear "when I was your age our gangs had to haul Thompson's 20 miles in the snow".

Usually when the cops say that about an incident, those involved either have priors and are known gang members, admit they're in a gang, have gang tattoos or were wearing gang colors. Cops don't just say that for no reason; they look to add enhancements to a crime if they have proof of gang membership or activity. They always write the case looking for as many charges as they can get, and known gang members get additional charges nowadays.
Glad they are caught - this type of garbage is a danger to public safety.

About a month ago, I went to a 10:30 pm movie... saw some thugs hanging out outside when I went in; same thugs were still hanging out when I came out.
I witnessed a group of men steal stuff out of the unattended snack bar.
I searched for an employee. There was not one around anywhere!
The Bathrooms were trashed, every single toilet full of paper and poo. Not one could be flushed.
If there is no supervision, and the public knows this... of course crooked ones will take advantage of the situation.
Be warned: That theater and the parking lot is NOT a safe place to go while no security or employees are around.

i personally know that it was not a gang fight for a fact. The comment that someone made about how if its a gang related crime that they usually know by the suspect being a known gang member. if this is true then the police are wrong in this situation. i know the suspect and this was a case of self defense. he went to see a romantic comedy with his girlfriend and a GROUP of guys and girls started harrassing them. self defense.

How do you have 2 knives on you if it's self defence? I almost want one of these thugs to try anything with me if I go there, and they'll be sorry AND it definitely will be self defence.

@ Steering clear of Century 16
I was there late one night a week ago and I found the same situation as you mentioned.
There was no security and what Century 16 needs to know; that if these people are not asked to leave more of the same baggy pants underwear hanging out type of person/s will come and gather.

I know what you mean about staying away from the Century's but the parent company owns almost all the theaters around here.
You would think with the dirt cheap price of the workers there, and the sky-high price of movies ... probably just hours before they start to charge us $11 and up for movies soon, and the price of their popcorn that they might have the civic mindedness to hire the personnel to maintain order. I know they turn the lights off at night before the last shows let out.
I really think cities should have the power to mandate some of this stuff and shut them the hell down if they do not give back anything to the community and just seek to "mine" dollars from us to go to whomever? Who runs this company anyway?

I've known Jesse ever since I was 5 years old. It had to be self defence, he's not the type to stab someone for no reason.

Well, people change and guess what its freaking amazing what some people will do for peer acceptance. the evidence is there. and innocent people will generally not hide in bushes and then lie to law enforcement personnel. Get Real.
