This is true. But does paying teachers higher salaries result in better education? Not likely. There is little evidence that student performance goes up when teacher salary goes up.
Gordon is backed heavily by unions. Nothing that he has done so far is likely to be anything that doesn't increase the power of unions, or their compensation.

To Unions Are Toxic: I don't think anyone has claimed that more money in a teacher's purse makes a better teacher. But it will keep a good teacher from jumping to a district that pays more. It is the same principal corporations use in defending pay rates for their
CEOs.
