Why were the police and fire dept in the Baylands yesterday?

I was hiking with friends in the Baylands at the end of Geng Rd. yesterday. When I arrived around 9:45 there were several police cars. More arrived along with two fire engines. They then pulled something or someone from the Creek. Does anyone know what happened? I expected to see something in the news.

What we had was news that occurred on Tuesday Jan. 27, and was not reported until Jan. 31. I don't know why it took so long.
