OKAY, so what are those chemicals normally used for and why might they be in an apartment complex. Are they cleaning product ingredients, or some illegal drug ingredients? A tiny bit more detailed information might be offered, please.

If you Google "calcium sulfide and sulfuric acid" you'll "Milk of lime, Ca(OH)2, reacts with elemental sulfur to give a "lime-sulfur", which has been used as an insecticide. The active ingredient is probably a calcium polysulfide, not CaS.[1]
It reacts with acids such as hydrochloric acid to release toxic hydrogen sulfide gas."

The article indicates that the police investigation is ongoing. Maybe in a few months we'll get the rest of the story. Milk Pail put a full-page heartfelt memoriam on the back page of a local newspaper today where their ads usually are.

I am so sorry for this devastating loss. That this could've harmed others is terrifying.
My condolences for the loves ones of them both. I know that the customers and Milk Pail community are feeling the loss.
