I saw it. It's a coyote. No doubt.

Don't leave pet food outside, secure garbage and clean up fallen fruit from trees. The biggest reason they are coming into residential neighborhoods is convenience rather than necessity. There is still plenty of natural food and water in the open space areas. If you don't make it welcoming for the coyotes, they will go back into the foothills.

I believe it.
About two weeks ago I heard a coyote yipping at about 4:00 am. It was during the very cold weather; at first I thought it was a drunken human making silly noises but then I recognized the sound from all the years I lived in the foothills.
This was just over the Palo Alto/Los Altos border in Mountain View.

Please keep this quiet or the South of Oregon folks will demand their own coyote

Heard him again last night at about 1 am. I think he's become our local coyote. Sorry PA!
