we don't understand why ryan burns got thrown under the bus this year. he played against all the better teams on the Stanford schedule and had an amazing comeback vs. ucla. the offensive line was embarrassingly weak and yet, Ryan hung in there and did a very credible job. it wasn't his fault the OL couldn't contain UW and WSU---then, when the schedule goes to the weaker team, in comes the new qb and coach shaw says how wonderful he is. we disagree. Ryan Burns would have eaten up the teams that the new qb has played the last two games. very frustrating to watch the quarterback get handed to the 2nd string qb. it seems that because his dad was an offensive coordinator (and fired at that), that there seems to be favortism to his son. was this the plan all along? if Stanford didn't get through the first very tough games in great fashion (which was nearly impossible with the weak OL this year, then the excuse was going to be we need to change quarterbacks. it was not ryan's fault--he deserves better.

and may we remember how he started against Kansas State? I believe he was 9 for 9 in pass attempts and taken out of the game for a series or two

Chryst isn't doing any better than Burns was, but McCaffrey seems to be recovered from the mystery injury that slowed him down last month.
