The future challenge, which I hope PAUSD and other districts are looking at NOW, is figuring out practice and playing space for all the teams which will be practicing and competing at the same time. During a normal year teams need not compete for space since their seasons are spread out. This year space is going to be a highly coveted resource. Hopefully creative thought is going into this NOW so that all stakeholders (our kids) can be accomodated. Please PAUSD, get ahead of this problem with planning and conversations before the problem is upon us.
Also sad that many 2-3 sport athletes or kids who play a sport and participate in drama, or robotics, or any number of other activities will be forced to pare down. Especially sad for those students for whom activities help keep them engaged.

I don't understand why any sports practice or games have been allowed in California under COVID-19. Almost no music or drama groups have been allowed to rehearse or perform in person, but in-person sports have been prioritized at all levels, from professional sports leagues to college sports to high school athletics. California doesn't even mention live performing arts in its four-tier system or Industry Guidance. The hypocrisy is appalling.

Did PA Weekly furlough their sports department? Not even any coverage of the Big Game or the many college games that have been cancelled or that Stanford is leaving the state to practice and play football because that's more important than following Covid guidelines apparently
