Paly banged up in SCVAL De Anza Division football opener

Original post made on Mar 20, 2021

Palo Alto took an early lead and looked as though it would continue to produce. An untimely hit to the head and Wilcox's nearly unstoppable rushing game combined to wear down the visiting Vikings on Friday night.

A dam shame that an absolute cheap shot , late hit out of bounds knocked Danny out and changed that game.
Absolute cheap shot by the Wilcox kid , 15 yards doesn’t bring your quarterback back.

Paly was indeed ahead early. Danny is a very tough Jr., and he will be back. Props to Josh for playing out of position.

that being said, every team is going to run the ball against Paly until they learn how to stop it.

There is a reason Wilcox is a two-time defending champion...a better football team than Paly with a more rugged defense and varied offense.

It's blue-collar football VS more affluent kids simply playing for fun.

such generalizations, Mr. Tinsley. Last night Paly was ahead twice, before an injury to the QB. Plus, over the last couple of years, the games were very close, practically down to the last play. I might argue the opposite: the lower class people (and it ain't cheap to live In Santa Clara either....) have so many problems to worry about outside of football Paly players can just concentrate on football. Paly's pro-set should not be less varied than WC's veer, but yes, you are right, their current playbook seems to have been more limited by Covid (?) than WC's. It's more important to define yourself than have others limit you by their definition, don't you think? Gunn is #731 in CA, says Max Preps. They probably sit around a table and joke about 'all those rich kids can do well is build robots.' How wrong do you think that is, Mr. Tinsley?

Gunn's 2021 ranking is a lot better than where I went to high school...a certain parochial prep school in Rowland Heights, CA currently ranked at 999 in the entire state!

Like why even bother putting on the pads and showing up?

On the other hand, being a predominantly Asian high school with excellent academics (#13 in CA), being undersized and getting humiliated weekly on the gridiron is pretty much a non-issue nor of any genuine interest to most of the student body.

Being a college-educated professional trumps being a one-shot high school player who most likely, will never play college football...let alone in the NFL.

Football is better enjoyed being watched on TV.

by you, Mr. Chang. But please don't decide for your whole race, because it's fun and it makes you mentally and physically tougher, and forces you to work closely with others for a common goal.

Roadblocks and sandbags are not allowed on a football field.
