There's a good reason why China doesn't accept CA recyclables anymore. In an incredibly desperate ignorant, politically correct and grossly unethical effort to falsify their recycling numbers, CA cities and counties have been sending huge amounts of grossly contaminated garbage to China. China wants to recycle pure recyclables, not just our unsorted trash. Politicians and bureaucrats will be corrupt politicians and bureaucrats. They are desperate to protect their pathetically useless "jobs". So sad for useless people with no other job qualifications. And that is NOT SAD but NECESSARY.

And my city of MV knowingly (probably actually) distorts its recycling numbers. My one example is its treatment of yard waste (brown) containers. MV treats every ounce of yard waste dumped in its brown containers as "recyclable", even though much or even most of it goes into landfills and dumps. Why? Clean plant waste is essential in landfills to promote "healthy landfills", as long as you ignore all of the toxic chemicals that ignorant idiots dump on their yards. The clean plant waste is used to layer layers of filthy bagged trash and is necessary to promote eventual bacterial breakdown of the filthy trash --- that is if the yard chemicals used by ignorant idiots allows bacterial breakdown.

Ignorant fools will be ignorant fools, and IMHO they'll lie desperately to protect their pathetic jobs. And China just has said NO!!! It'll be interesting to see just how they spin this disaster to protect their jobs.
