Letters to the editor: City needs to fix intersection; make room for La Comida

I’m seconding my neighbor, Jeff Brown’s concern about the dangerous intersection at Lincoln Ave and Middlefield Rd. Multiple times a week I hear a long, loud car horn blasting and I clench, waiting for the impact. Too often, it ends in a smash up, with cars pushed up onto the sidewalk and even into yards, all the way up to the porch. Sheer luck has kept a fatality from happening; at least one person involved had a brain injury. Multiple neighbors have for years been contacting the city, asking for action and have been ignored. If anyone on city council or working for the transportation department lived around here, there would have been a fix a long time ago. I am not a traffic safety expert so I don’t know what the best solution is, but it’s definitely NOT leaving it as it is. It’s time for the city to treat the situation as the urgent concern that it is!
