I knew his mother Dimples Gaines from a women's group we were in. She was generous and kind, and provided us with good food and conversation with a smile. I was shocked and horrified that domestic violence could take this beautiful life from us. I am heartened to know that her son has come thru this trauma with perseverance and grace, and is a leader in the community his mother served so well. Best wishes on your journey.

I had the great pleasure of working with Melvin when he was a young EPA employee. It was easy to see then he was a very hard worker with a bright future. So glad to see the City developing its own talent and hiring passionate hard-working individuals like Mr. Gaines.
