California needs thousands of nurses, but leaders can't agree on how to fill jobs

California faces a shortage of about 36,000 licensed nurses, according to the UC San Francisco Health Workforce Research Center on Long-Term Care. Nearly half the workforce reports symptoms of burnout.

The U.S. should increase the number of visas issued for nurses to immigrate here from the Philippines.
There is a track record for many years of nurses of various levels/qualifications from there - who are typically very bilingual - succeeding in this capacity.
I have already emailed appropriate level politicians about this recommendation sometime ago. No answer or indication of interest. Please consider recommending this to our politicians, too.
