Thank you so much for this fascinating article. I love hearing about Palo Alto's history and seeing wonderful photos like these. It would be wonderful to hear about the Duveneck family's history in Palo Alto -- an extraordinary family that gave us so much.

Why are these 19th century architectural designs called Queen Anne?
Queen Anne was a 17th century British sovereign and most designs (i.e. Elizabethan, Victorian, Edwardian) are reflective of the timeframes they were built.
