Thank you for speaking out, Mayor Kou. Weiner’s ethos of creating misery for people on the wild theory that it will magically make things better only makes a lot of them move away suddenly like after the pandemic.

Especially given new emerging technology for transportation, it makes no sense to make life hell for one mode of transportation, especially one that is far more usable for the large percent of the population with mobility issues.

If you want people to do something else, you have to make a path. Our public transit deserves greater investment to solve those problems but not by a regressive tax like this that indiscriminately hits the poor. It’s like Weiner wants the roads only accessible to the richest.
