There was a settlement which implies guilt. The shadow is long. H if indeed guilty needs to step down. Roman Catholics have been cast out into the wilderness because many can not stand by while some rogue priests get away with violating the trust of parishoners. Certainly not all priests are predators. The Vatican needs to adhere to Canon Law before the 11th century where priests were allowed to marry like rabbis and Greek Orthodox priests.

Parents should emphasize to their children to resist the lewd advances of child predators and to report any incident(s) of impropriety to the proper parties (i.e. their parents, school administrators, the police department etc.).
The only way to curtail child molesters is to expose them, prosecute them, and incarcerate them.
