Saving Cats - become a foster family

Original post made by Suzanne & Sally, Menlo Park, on Jul 27, 2006

In regards to the article in yesterday's Palo Alto Weekly, "Saving Cats," one alternaive that wasn't mentioned is the fostering program offered at several animal agencies in the South Bay and Peninsula areas. Check out the web sites of Palo Alto Animal Services, the Peninsula Humane Society, Pets in Need, and the Humane Society Silicon Valley. Our family has been involved in fostering kittens for nearly 1.5 years through the Humane Society Silicon Valley, and have found the program to be a very rewarding experience. The agency provides the training & food, and we provide a safe environment for the kittens to grow & become socialized. Once the kittens reach a specified age/weight, they are spayed or neutered, and are available for adoption through the agency. Interested? Or have questions? Contact your nearest animal agency - you will be will be helping to provide healthy pets for Bay Area families!
