School Superintendent Needs to Go

Original post made by Periwinkle, Downtown North, on Sep 30, 2006

Mary Frances Callan, PAUSD's Superintendent, needs to go. From the very first, she managed to alienate our superb teacher corps, and has now at long last even managed to alienate PAUSD administrators. Is this the kind of leader we want to head up one of the pride and joys of Palo Alto, its heralded school system?

It's time for a change.

Just curious if "Periwinkle" is somehow related to the person that runs the Pre-K program over by Walter Hays/Addison and happens to be married to the principal at Addison? If so, then maybe they should state that so we know that all of the postings might hold a tiny bit of bias against the Superintendent.

That's where these forums cause more problems then they solve.

As the principal of Addison, I can assure you that I did not submit this posting. I have written my letter to the editor, and if I feel the need to comment further, I will, as in the past, have my name attached to it.

Although I am now living in Menlo Park, I am sure that my wife, who runs the preschool mentioned, would also not submit a comment without her name attached.
