This is what local sports should look like. Congratulations to both teams and may the game be memorable.

Thanks Weekly for giving the kids such a great write up and please do more.

A special congratulations to the Palo Alto 14's who won the Babe Ruth District Title last night in Belmont. This team is an often overlooked group of ballplayers, sandwiched between the 15s who made it to Utah two years ago and the 13s who are well known for their long runs in the Little League tournaments. Coach Fried did a good job in knowing who to play and where. After many years of coming up just a little short against San Mateo American and Hillsborough as 10, 12 and 13 year olds, the boys finally had their day in the sun last night. May the carefree days of summer continue to shine brightly upon them in Woodland (as well as the 100 degree temperatures....)

So glad to see this writeup of a terrific 11-12s game. Jim Shorin takes amazing photos! Thanks, Jim -- keep up the good work.

Congratulations to the Babe Ruth team. Go Palo Alto!

By the way, the caption on Photo #5 reports the wrong score. The final score was 2-1 but the caption says 1-0.
