From the bay to the foothills

Original post made on Aug 9, 2007

Palo Alto has 35 parks and fields, 162 acres of which are in an urban setting. Each park-goer is drawn for a special reason -- be it to play a set of tennis, create a painting at the Baylands, sit and ponder life or unwind under an oak tree at Foothills Park as the deer graze nearby. Once a year I visit "my son the ranger" and his wife . One of the highlights of the trip is always to see his magnificent Foothills and Baylands Parks. One could happily spend days quietly enjoying the beauty. The rest of the year I hold the memory of them in this east coast heart. You truly have a treasure! On behalf of all who care about the natural environment let me thank you.
