The Palo Alto utility rate is already very high and any more increase is really bad to the reputation of the town. I am curious about how the utility rate (gas, electric, water) in Palo Alto compares to the nearby town like Los Altos, Mountain view, Sunnyvale, and Menlo Park. My own unscientific comparison indicated that it is not favorable although many people believe Palo Alto has low utility rate.
I am strongly against any utility rate increase.

The city has the obligation to provide us the historical utility
rate as compared with neighborhood cities.

Stop this nonsense. The utlity bills for the average Palo Altan are too high already. Mine topped $750/month. I wore synchilla and gloves at times inside my home and still my utility bill is outrageous. What kind of City Council approves of a rate hike given the already over-the-top bills being generated by Palo Alto Utilities.
Let's give PG&E a try at it for awhile. It can't be any worse.
