Especially note these parts:
"When council members were asked what they think the biggest challenges are to attracting qualified people to work for the city, Council Member Sid Espinosa thrice said "cost of living," while Council Member John Barton said Palo Alto has a "local press that keeps tab of everything."
Benest said employees in the city's senior management positions were surveyed and reported that Palo Alto is a hypercritical community with "negative media."
A member of the city staff reportedly called it the "Palo Alto killing fields" - to which Benest said there is an element of truth."
Apparently there is something wrong with our local press keeping tab on things--maybe we need Frank to head up a censorship bureau to monitor our local press.
How dare we, as citizens, get upset with the Utilities scandal, Emily harrison suspension, Frank's ripping off the city etc, etc.
