Enjoying the New Cheese House -- An Insider's Tip

Original post made by Bob Wenzlau, Crescent Park, on May 8, 2008

As a tenant of Town & Country and parent of Paly students, I am discovering a great shopping tip, and wanted to pass it along. The Cheese House sells the spread, bread and meats to go. The meats, like the turkey, are about $7+ per pound, far cheaper than many of the local groceries. That I can pull of a mock sandwich with "spread" made me a sandwich hero today with my kids. So if you are circling around Town & Country to fetch the kids, know that you can get the sandwich fixin's to go at a surprisingly good price. (There is no financial deal here, I just like the guys, and am proud to see them pulling off a new business in town)...

I have heard that they have stopped selling their international (British )foods and candy? Is that true?

My hunch is they are still balancing out their inventory -- but they don't have the British foods. They do carry Acme bread, and some fancy sweets I don't need to try. I did use to chuckle at the few old blocks of "cheese" that rested in the fridge at the "old" cheese house, now they actually have the many cheeses in stock to honor its namesake.
