The media also keeps letting the Palin camp repeat charges that Democrats are being unfair to Palin by criticizing her family, but all I can find are prominent conservative women criticizing Palin for her family choices, nothing from Obama's camp, just a lot of manipulative charges by the Republicans.
The media also keeps repeating various pundits touting Palin's "executive" experience (mayor of a town of 9000 that she left in debt, 20 months as governor of one of the smallest states in the country and already under an ethics investigation), but no mention that George Bush had far more executive experience than McCain or Palin and that didn't make him a good President.
Many stories repeat the charge that Obama is somehow "elite" - when he is a self-disciplined, self-made person of color, raised by a single mother and his white grandparents - who did well at Harvard Law School. John Sidney McCain III (that's "The Third") grew up with immense privilege, was a legacy naval academy student where he graduated almost at the bottom of his class due to a poor work ethic and a belligerent personality (he has said he would have rather gone to Princeton, sniff) - married to an heiress and can't remember how many houses he has - yet the media somehow keeps letting him portray himself as this average Joe, so that once again, the Republicans make the important choice of leader of our country come down to who you want to have a beer with (or have in your soccer league).
So much for all that self-examination by the media, wondering how they could have been so soft on (i.e., fawning of) President Bush in the lead up to the Iraq war - the Republicans just have to beat those disingenuous drums about the illusive "liberal" media, and the press just falls in line to do their bidding once again. (C'mon, has none of them ever watched conservative princess Katy Couric for starters?)
My challenge to the media: please, just for once, just for the good of our country - call their bluff. Grow a spine and really live up to the charge for once! Or at least just grow an objective, investigative spine!
