Anyone had a custom handrail made lately?

I'm trying to figure out how to get an exterior handrail next to the front stairs made for my older PA home -- and to write a story about it! Who designs them? Are there any showrooms, catalogs, websites where one can view them? Who makes them? How much do they cost?
