If you post this question on the Almanac board, you will get responses. People who live in Santa Clara County can't send their kids to Summit.

Check Greatschools.com -- there are 4 positive, no negative reviews on that.

i believe any student can apply to Summit in any County.

priority goes to indistrict student from Sequoia district, so with a several hundred person waiting list, it is difficult to apply from Santa Clara country without moving (much like some move to Palo Alto for high schools)
Summit just ranked in the top 100 public high schools in the US and top 10 in Caifornia in Newsweek's 2010 ranking which measures penetration of AP coursework. Web Link
