Original post made by Suzy, Downtown North, on Jul 9, 2009

I am looking for a small/alternative public high school option and I wonder what people think of Summit in Redwood City.

If you post this question on the Almanac board, you will get responses. People who live in Santa Clara County can't send their kids to Summit.

Check Greatschools.com -- there are 4 positive, no negative reviews on that.

priority goes to indistrict student from Sequoia district, so with a several hundred person waiting list, it is difficult to apply from Santa Clara country without moving (much like some move to Palo Alto for high schools)

Summit just ranked in the top 100 public high schools in the US and top 10 in Caifornia in Newsweek's 2010 ranking which measures penetration of AP coursework. Web Link
The State API system ranks Summit as a "9/10" Web Link
