Tens of thousands of Americans die from influenza every year (hundreds of thousands worldwide). And the vast majority of H1N1 victims are not elderly.

While 800,000 may be a reasonable estimate for the number high-risk folks, the figure of 250,000 for expected new doses wouldn't cover a substantial fraction of the remaining Santa Clara County residents.

They did not say that 250,000 will be the last shipment. But, if you want to make sure you get your shot this month, doing it sooner sounds like a good idea.
