As a longtime friend of David Lewis, I can say without question that the " Free at Last " program has been a very successful and worthwhile from the beginning. As a former law enforcement professional who previously worked full-time in the East Palo Alto community for many years I have seen dozens of examples of the good work that the staff at Free at Last have done since they opened their doors to recently released County Jail and state prisoners. Without effective programs such as Free at Last many individuals would be quickly sent back to jail and/or prison for probation or parole violations. Hopefully some funds sources will become able to keep this valuable program operating in the East Palo Alto area.

Free at Last is in the process of putting an online donation link on their www.freeatlast.org website. Once the link is up I will write again to let people know.

Is there an address for sending donations to help tide over Free at Last? The community needs this organization as much as the participants being assisted. We, as a group, should get behind this effort! David Lewis cannot have started this organization in vain!!

It seems a LOT of money for this program! Must change the mode and lessen the cost.
