There are quite a few other martial arts instructors in the area with similar goals. The real differences with Jackson seem to be that he is from EPA and that he has his students living with him. He seems to be going the extra step for these kids and that is great. I'm just not sure if he can take on many more people.

Does anyone have any recommendations for martial arts schools in Palo Alto where the teachers show a true concern for the students' development, rather than their personal profitability? Almost every place I've seen around here seems to be a watered-down profit-center.

I have the deepest admiration for you and the group. I grew up on the other side of the freeway (PA), and although I work a good job, I'm a mess now (probably know what I mean). I would like to suggest visiting the Palo Alto Buddhist Temple. They offer classes in at least kendo, judo and karate.
