Review: 'Dark Shadows'

The tried-and-true tandem of director Tim Burton and actor Johnny Depp is often a tantalizing proposition. But not every Burton/Depp offering is must-see cinema. "Dark Shadows" lands in the "underwhelming" category. ==I -- TH==

some movies seem to be made so that they go straight onto dvd. why go back to an old tv series in order to make a ho-hum movie? these production people are capable of much better than this

The movie reviewer for KGO radio said this movie is a snooze after a bit.

There have been in the last few years mostly pretty average or below average movies. I don't care much for Burton or Depp or the "Dark Shadows" thing.

One movie I can recommend for free ( if you have NetFlix - $8/month ) that just came out is "The Way" written and directed by Emilio Estavex and starring his dad, Martin Sheen. I was so pleasantly surprised at this cool story, nice cinematography, and lack of violence and gratuitous sexuality, car crashed, super-heros, computer graphic effects, I'd have to say this is the best movie I've seen in a while.

You could not pay me to sit though "Dark Shadows" of this "Hunger Games" movie … bleck !
