I think the Weekly is showing that it is more interested in reporting something that will cause irk and contention rather than inform us of something that will be of benefit to us in the future.

I don't agree with the flag flying nonsence and even less about whether or not residents agree or disagree about gay marriage. I do however have a lot of interest in knowing whether my life will be disupted the way it was disrupted two days before Christmas due to flooding and road closures.

Please get your prioritites right.

Thank you for reporting on this important item. I am interested to know why you were able to report on the gay flag story Monday evening but not until nearly 3.00 pm Tuesday afternoon after I had posted requesting the news.

Resident - you really think it's your business to know why a reporter took the time to write a news report? Ok, well, I'd like to know why you think you're entitled to know, but I'll only ask once, instead of repeatedly, as you have.

Valid point Hmmmm. Perhaps I have over reacted but I am getting tired of the over reporting by the media on the gay marriage issue. There are other important issues (North Korea), Education funding issues (particularly in California), and who knows what else that isn't being well reported, and instead we get this never ending media saturation on something which is going to take weeks to be decided. It strikes me that local flooding is much more of an issue to Palo Alto residents than gay flags. I would expect the news headline to reflect the most important news in town.

I would like to have more relevant news and less sensationalism.

Perhaps then it should have occurred to you that the flood story required more fact-checking & available sources for quotes & the rainbow flag story sources were more immediately available.

We all get news fatigue & need local stories, so I understand your frustration. But marriage equality us currently the biggest civil rights issue in our state & of course, it affects many locals.

Can you imagine how fatigued I get from reading either anti-EPA stories or the condescending ones? Blecch!
