"There was significant damage to the home, and the Red Cross responded to provide assistance to the resident, the release stated."

Chulo: What is your comment about? Why wouldn't the Red Cross be there to help? That is what their mission is. The residents are suddenly without a place to stay. In a caring society we try to help each other. I donate to the Red Cross precisely so they will help such people on my behalf.

Marty: The lady that lives there drives a new Audi and her son drives a $50k ranch truck EVERY DAY. I don't think they really need the Red Cross' help.

NOTE: Red Cross is corrupt. Find somewhere else to donate: Web Link

Red Cross support does not necessarily mean monetary support. They can help the resident find a place to stay for the night, help negotiate a lower rent, provide a list of resources for clean up services, mental health support, etc.

What a person drives has no bearing on the impact that may affect that individual after a house fire. Could have a million bucks in the bank, but if they are confused, have no local family resources, unsure of what to do --- the Red Cross can help on any of those fronts.

Yes the Red Cross is an amazing organization (thank you, Crescent Park Dad and Marty). My father was a WWII POW and he said the Red Cross is who came through for them.

Thank you Palo Alto Fire Department! While we all work hard to prevent house fires, it is so reassuring to know that we have a great Fire Department to respond when the need arises!
