Seems that EPA is much more enlightened than Palo Alto. Nice of them to welcome Seniors. Unlike the NIMBYS of PA who shot down 60 units of Sr Housing in Palo Alto, the good folks of EPA value seniors and dont hide behind traffic. How much traffic comes through EPA to get to PA every day ?

Yet again another person who wants to cling onto the "anti-senior" mantra without acknowledging all of the faults/facts on the Maybell proposal.
Too dense, too high, under-parked. All they had to do was propose a project that fit the existing zoning...but they tried to pull a fast one and they got called out.
Congrats to EPA. Hopefully the city will learn from the recent PA experience and will build the new housing complex within current zoning rules and work with the neighbors.

I applaud EPA for working to provide affordable housing. However, for over $500,000 per unit??? I don't know how large the units are but it likely translates to well over $800/sf. They should be getting 100 units for that kind of money

well at least maybe some of Palo Alto's seniors will have a place to retire to: in East Palo Alto. At least they will not be too far away. It's good that a local community is making an effort. It's a comfort to those of us approaching retirement.

2358 University Avenue fronts Sacramento St, the location of the infamous 'Sac Street' gang. They've been the subject of numerous prior articles in the press, including this one published on 24 March 2014 by the San Jose Mercury News:

It's great to see the commitment of private capital to this location; the more development here -- on a wise and prudent scale -- the less likely the gang will continue to thrive.

I agree with that amount of money we should have more units built and more parking spaces.once the residents that are being relocated gets a unit it will be full. The city council need to think about that
