East Palo Alto to put sales tax on November ballot

The East Palo Alto City Council unanimously approved putting a 1/2-cent sales tax on the Nov. 8 ballot Tuesday night to maintain city services, according to a news release from the city.

Yes! Those of us who like to shop at Ikea, Mi Pueblo, Home Depot, etc. should contribute to the upkeep of the city. EPA needs the money and I'm willing to do my bit.

Thanks for your positive comment, Sue. I agree and feel the same way. For too many years folks in East Palo Alto shopped on the west side of 101 and all their sales tax revenue went to PA and Menlo, etc -- so it's time that the situation be reversed a little.
