Prep wrestling: Top tourney efforts from Paly, Gunn, M-A

Palo Alto's Charlie Williams and Gunn's Timothy Waymouth each won an individual title at the Cupertino Bianchini Tournament on Saturday and both teams finished among the top 11. Vikings' Dara Heydarpour also reached the championship match in his division. At the Napa Valley Classic girls wrestling tournament, Lauren McDonnell and Abby Ericson each reached the championship match.

Uhhh, Top 11? :------)
Paly took a very very strong team 3rd place.
Earning what I believe to be its FIRST EVER Team Trophy
for this tournament. Cuppertino tournament has been around
at least since 1990....
Not to mention almost every Viking won their last match, huge
for team point totals.... Very impressive results.
7 of 8 Vikings top 3 in their weight class....

Congrats to Gunn as well.....
