This one of my favorites places to eat in Redwood City. Next time, try the Taiwanese style beef noodle soup. Tender beef and deliciously chewy noodles in a flavorful and spicy broth is great on a cold night.

Sounds interesting. It would be very helpful to know also if the Ma Po Tofu, having been singled out for mention, was at all authentic. (Most Chinese restaurants offer something under that name, but the only thing they all have in common is tofu, unless the cook knows the real stuff -- was the "spicy red sauce" based on dou ban jiang? Did the dish include the signature hua jiao spice [citrus scent, then palate numbing that counteracts the hot pepper?]) But from this report, the dumplings justify a try regardless of other dishes,
BTW it's Napa county, but "nappa" cabbage in careful writing. (No connection between the two, AFAIK.)

Dumpling City has better dumplings and you cook them at home (Bring water to a boil, drop in dumplings, bring to a boil, then time 9 minutes): $8.95 for a bag of 20. They only sell frozen dumplings, wontons, and some other frozen items [portion removed.]
