Interesting. Internal appointments with no attempt to hire outside potentially more qualified candidates. And Quezada doesn't appear to have the required State of California administrative credential.

The reporter forgot to mentioned that Denos (Gloria's Hernandez Goff's Son) position was terminated, and he will be out soon June. Denis can no longer get a paycheck without doing nothing because his mama is no longer the super, and he can no longer use abusive language with parents and employees as he did in the past when his mama was the super and nobody could do something about it.Thanks Gina for Cleaning house. Hopefully you continue to do that until all the rotten apples are thrown to the trash. All Gloria Hernandez Goff, former Ravenswood Superintendent's friends need to leave the district and follow her to the next district victim she will be coming ago take into financial crisis.

The article reads "the board has yet to announce details on its plan for hiring a permanent replacement for Gloria Hernandez-Goff, who resigned in March." It should say WHO WAS FORCED TO RESIGN AFTER SHE WAS FOUND TO VIOLATED DISTRICT POLICIES WHEN SHE HARASSED PRINCIPAL TODD GAVIGLIO AND OTHERS, AS IT WAS FOUNG OUT BY THE INVESTIGATION RESULTS ON BEHALF OF TODD GAVIGLIO.

I hope the new principals are of ethnic minorities.

Most white people do not understand the true needs of ethnic minorities because they tend to rely on vicarious experiences such as books, Hollywood movies and college lectures.

A principal from the ghetto knows his/her way around the various obstacles.

The new people are very good. Many congrats to Tamara and Gina for working to help the kids! They care and are trying to make things better. I wish them the best of luck.

And it's that kind of response that causes people like you to stay ghetto. What a washed-out soul to think that way. You don't have to be "minority" to understand motivation and behavior. Seems like you haven't been able to escape the victim mentality.

I am not a victim...just a witness. Most outsiders (aka 'educated' white folks) cannot comprehend a life they were not accustomed to. So they read books, attend liberal-minded seminars & watch 'Roots' & 'Amistad' for their apparent comprehension.

To live the ghetto is to know the ghetto. You cannot get that experience growing up in a predominantly white middle-class neighborhood & chances are your college sociology professors received their academic 'visions' from reading other people's works.

I am originally from Compton...you probably never heard of the place as chances are you probably blindly passed by it on your way to the LA Coliseum.

" You don't have to be "minority" to understand motivation and behavior."

Your college psychology and sociology classes won't cover all of the bases man.

Get real. Nothing more ludicrous than listening to a white professor lecturing on the plight of the black man. All that's missing is a permed Afro.

I have to agree with Latrelle & For Sure on this one.

For those old enough to remember the TV sitcom 'Sanford & Son' remember the white cop that was always trying to relate to the black residents of the neighborhood via misconstrued & worded 'ghetto' vernacular?

It was hilarious and pretty much goes to show that many white sociologists & self-proclaimed non-black experts in the field of race relations are utterly clueless when it comes to comprehending the countless factors of race-related social unrest & upheaval as well as the natural ability to 'get down'. *LOL*

Remember Gloria was from the ghetto and was good for nothing, except at spending the funds without control. All we need is good hearted and educated people who wants to put our students first. Someone like Mr. Gaviglio. It seems to me like Tamara wants to fix all the problems that were caused by the majority of the board members (Pulido, Sharifa and Lope), and Gloria Hernandes Goff the former disfunctional sueprintendent; hopefully she can bring us back Gaviglio, who by the way, will also make an amazing superintendent. He deserves to comeback, even thoug I know that the minority of the board members will thorw a fit because they would not want to admit that they did wrong when they did not listen to him when he ask for their help, neither us parents who begged them to take the time to listen to us. Those board members shall be ashame of themselves, they are vendidos and bandidos.

There are bad apples in every ghetto. Just like there are bad apples in the more affluent communities like Beverly Hills.

Latrelle, For Sure & myself are referring to progressive & visionary ghetto bred people, not the good for nothings!

Most white people cannot endure, handle or appreciate the true black 'ghetto experience'.

Which is why so very few of them actually live there.

^^^ You are absolutely correct & I suspect that most upscale white folks would be afraid to even venture out that way. Then again, there is probably no reason for them to.

When I attended UC Berkeley I resided near the Oakland border (around MacArthur Boulevard) and everyday was a 'ghetto experience' with regular muggings/assaults, public drunkenness/heavy drug usage & a 24/7 greeting from the countless hookers who lined the streets. It was kind of like that old Lou Reed song "Walk On the Wild Side'.

Looking back, I wouldn't want that 'college experience' for my children but since I put myself through school it was the best I could do & afford at the time. I managed to survive but many of the regular inhabitants did not.

> Nothing more ludicrous than listening to a white professor lecturing on the plight of the black man. All that's missing is a permed Afro.

^^^ I actually had one on those! He looked just like the Brady Bunch father & always ended his lecture with "power to the people".

^^^ This is all so true along with the various EPA residents' comments & observations.

Most white people 'don't get it' and any commiserations on their part are usually 90% contrived due to lack of true understanding & pathos.

I'm am also white & self-admittedly don't fully comprehend the plight of minority peoples in the US.

At least I am being upfront...unlike most white professors & politicians.

Divided We Exist is right. I hang my head in shame for I am a white person who, although tries to understand and has worked in underserved communities for many years, is always told I don't get it. I don't get it, that's true. I will never get it. My family was persecuted and ran for their lives to escape certain death. But that doesn't matter because I'm white and it's not the same.
The world is a disgrace right now and one can only hope we all come to realize that we are ALL humans and we're in this together. Or at least I hope we are. If not, divided we don't exist. Divided we fall.
