I would like to clarify the post on Disaster Preparedness. This topic should be on everyone's mind as we prepare for the summer and fire season...as well as the inevitable earthquake.

The Palo Alto Office of Emergency Services (OES) is the lead department for this. This department is very closely aligned with the 2 other Public Safety Departments - Fire and Police - as they all carry out this mission.

There is a large group of volunteers in our city that work with OES They are called ESVs (Emergency Service Volunteers). You may have one on your block! Although special training can be arranged, There are many training programs that are scheduled through-out the year. Please see the calendar at Web Link

Additional information about preparedness can be found on the city web site or a comprehensive view at Web Link

The number listed in the article is for the Office of Emergency Services Program Coordinator.
