I have to point out here that GS ‘s award on housing has to do w Redwood City not the sacred SFH NA’s of PA. The abysmal track record of PA is a tragic tell all of metaphoric redlining of the now. Should GS do a good, deep dive into Palo Alto redlined and historic facts, descriptors in housing, I am here as a witness. As a relative of a resident, state assembly candidate, a single mom, woman who powered forward in the 1940’s for inclusive humanitarian housing for the Peninsula Housing Assembly coalition. Lawerence Tract for: escaped Jewish from Germany WWII, Returning & incarcerated, Japanese American camp victims. I can attest and so can the UC Bancroft Library which has her own real history in hard back. Gennedy take a look. There is one doing their PHD work on this tract and Landera. He grew up on the and in the Lawerence tract. Wallace Stegner and Josephine Duveneck were a part of it. Yet you choose to go outside city lines and into another bordering county to do your journalism work. Why? Scooping a story of your making, perhaps. Collaboration is key. I am a fourth Gen Palo Atan facing grave consequence of our city’s affordable housing hole & inequities. Yet GS. Your reporting is so Post WWII baby boom era encircling the West Coast American Dream, as unattainable as is.

Congratulations to the Palo Alto Weekly and its exceptional staff! I don’t know if everyone realizes how lucky we are, in a smallish city, to have this caliber of journalism—-while newspapers are closing right and left around the country. I little while ago I contributed to the Weekly’s fund-raising drive. I hope all other readers so too, as they are able.

Congratulations PA Weekly and Embarcadero Media, with a special shout-out to Gennady Sheyner with his 5 awards.
Sheyner’s collaboration on the PA police, “Battling Bias” is especially enlightening with its in-depth analysis.
Well deserved, everyone.

Congratulations to the Palo Alto Weekly staff on these very well deserved awards. We are so lucky to have this paper in our city. I am a member and I have also donated and will continue to do so.
