Re:
"The council will meet in a closed session to discuss potential negotiations with the Palo Alto Unified School District over land at Cubberley Community Center."

Residents should know that this involves removing anti-development status from Terman Park in order to hand it over to the PAUSD for likely development. Why was not an unused piece of land in Palo Alto instead considered for this?

Save Terman Park!

I thought closed meetings were against the law. The Brown Act. What we need from the city is a day presentation of all of the "committees" where they put on presentations of what they are working on and what their goals are. We all need to know because as we watch the PACC meetings no one appears totally clear of what the city is doing, what the committees are doing, and they are "surprised" by what consultants are doing.

We do not need consultants - we need public presentations and public input. The majority of people who live in this city have advanced degrees and a vested interest in this city being successful. And you don't have to pay us. City planning need to be done by the city residents.

I would be very interested to discover the income from Foothills Preserve since the charge per car per entry started v any and all extra costs due to the fact that there is an entry fee and what it costs to collect it.

How many special exemptions are there?
How many season tickets are sold, and how many season tickets are for seniors?
Why is it unable to buy or renew season tickets at the gate?
Why can't season ticket holders go through the "exit" when there is a line of paying cars in front?

The Parks and Rec Department should be able to look into this.

Thank you.

The City Council knows that many people are worried about the status of Terman Park. Why discuss this in a closed meeting? There are many good reasons why Terman Park should remain a park. Many letters have been sent to CC to explain why we care so much. Perhaps one of the most important reasons is that the more we densify our cities, the more we need to protect the parks that we have. Once we lose a park, it is gone permanently.
