How Palo Altan Michelle Kraus and a Silicon Valley network are rescuing LGBTQ+ Afghans

Americans for Afghans, a humanitarian startup co-founded by Palo Alto human relations commissioner Michelle Kraus and San Francisco tech executive Joe Rodriguez, is helping rescue LGBTQ Afghans from the clutches of the Taliban.

Is Ms. Kraus being paid for this work beyond basic expenses? It’s a pertinent question given her controversial history not mentioned here.

She was hired and paid to aid the success of the President Hotel buyers, culminating in their evicting 77 residents from affordable housing where Kraus too lived. Her work was widely considered a betrayal by Hotel residents.

So - is Kraus being paid?

Wow, interesting dichotomy about Kraus. She's cool with displacing potentially vulnerable US citizens, but vehemently passionate about LGBTQ+ people in Afghanistan? That doesn't work for me - people are people, regardless of their sexual preference or preferred gender. Start at home.
