Good for newsroom employees. This is good news for the community as well. The editors and journalists need to be heard and appreciated.

"Adam Dawes, CEO of Embarcadero Media, said Tuesday that management needs to familiarize themselves with their role, responsibilities and legal obligations, so he could offer only a limited response."
Huh? Sure management knowing its role, responsibilities etc. is a plus so what's new?

"Newsroom employees at Embarcadero Media announced that they are forming a union on Tuesday, Sept. 26."
Start by rewriting the lede sentence correctly:
On Tuesday, Sept. 26, newsroom employees at Embarcadero Media announced they are forming a union.

I hope this works out well for Embarcadero Media.
A lede sentence is written to grab the immediate attention of the reader. Journalists know this and so do most of us who read the news.

Interesting. Especially the comment by Dawes. Wasn't he on the Board for several years before becoming editor? I wonder if the journalists are concerned about the increasing bias/lack of objectivity regarding what EM chooses to print and not print.
