Quake alert from Sacramento County sparks confusion among Bay Area residents

An emergency alert for an earthquake in Sacramento County reached Bay Area residents’ phones Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., causing confusion among residents who were not close enough to the earthquake to feel it.

@Bystander - re "Does the test reach global regions?" -- no. But other countries do their own earthquake drills on the same day, for example: Web Link

And then of course the test that was due for today at 10.19 was sent out at 3.19 am.
